Shiny Soldier + Tommy, British soldier
Tommy came from a long line of warriors, dating back 500,000 years to a 6’ tall fellow found in a bog. Tom learned every male ancestor fought to the death, if necessary. Tom wanted to devote his life to gardening but this was not allowed. Terrified, he was forced to fight in Africa, carrying Shiny Soldier for courage. Finally, he returned to the family estate, Great Dixter House, creating one of the grandest gardens in England! p.s. Shiny Soldier is buried in that garden!
