Little Anne was born in Trinidad, an island in the Caribbean where she learned Calypso words and music from her great-grandmother. Anne’s parents moved from the islands to Los Angeles, California because they wanted to leave behind bad memories. But Anne held onto Calypso and when she left home, she opened a Calypso studio, producing hundreds of singers and dancers who help spread Calypso worldwide. Anne’s pet parrots often sung to the beat.
