Queen Janet Antoinette

You’ve probably read that Queen Marie Antoinette was beheaded after being informed about the starving citizens who had no bread to eat. She didn’t think before she spoke, always problematic, and said, “Let them eat cake!” In honor of the Queen’s beheading, her head on her cookie jar rotates. My mother’s name was Janet, and she walked around with a feather boa and behaved like royalty, but we let mom keep her head. Queen Janet Antoinette can be found in Nursery Rhymes in “Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat.”
